#1, 2, 3, and 7 all sound like the Doctor. Just saying...He knew Dickens.

Okay, I only recognize one of them (I believe) without checking: 5 is clearly from Hard Times (which I love). I'm guessing 6 is Oliver Twist. I'm going to be really embarrassed if the others are from books I've read and loved...here goes...

1 - Dombey and Son - which I have and greatly desire to read...wish the BBC hadn't cancelled Andrew Davies' project for the gazillionth Great Expectations
2 - Ooooh, not good. Our Mutual Friend - and I love that one...
3 - David Copperfield - which I have read, but not since I fell in love with Dickens, so I don't feel bad about that one.
4 - Tale of Two Cities.
7 - Little Dorrit! Oh, dear. And that's one of my absolute favorite scenes, too! I suspected it might be Amy, but disregarded it because of the diction...
8 - Great Expectations.

1. Mrs. Skewton, Dombey and Son
2. Eugene Wrayburn, Our Mutual Friend
3. Miss Mowcher, David Copperfield
4. Miss Pross, A Tale of Two Cities
5. Mr Sleary, Hard Times
6. Nancy, Oliver Twist
7. Pancks, Little Dorrit
8. Herbert Pocket, Great Expectations
