The documentary Charles Dickens's England is showing in British theaters before airing on television. However, it's getting pretty poor reviews (scroll down). So if you're over there, proceed at your own risk, I guess.

Hey Gina! Hope Charles Dickens England comes to the US!I saw your post yesterday. Plorn is a very unusual nickname. And a long nickname too. I wonder where Dickens got the name from? Maybe he invented it? Have you ever considered making a web page for Nicholas Nickleby or A Christmas Carol? If your ever get the chance try and look up a TV show called Dr. Who. There's an episode called "the unquiet Dead" with Charles Dickens.

I think I saw a trailer for this film on the internet - doesn't it have Derek Jacobi in it? It's a shame that it's getting such poor reviews (as in 0 stars!!); especially since there are so few films about Dickens. It would be nice if PBS/BBC would do a documentary.
(BTW Angela, I got your comment at my site but I can't reply because it says your e-mail is invalid! Do you have an alternate I could try?)

Nibs, you can contact me here. Thanks for trying. Something must be wrong with the e-mail. Sorry!
Gina, I'm not sure if it has Derek Jacobi in it. It is a shame that there is not a lot of films about Dickens. That's why I'm so excited about Drood being made into a film!

Hey you guys, I just found there is another Dickens life-story called "UNCOVERING THE REAL DICKENS". Here's a video to that: http://www.opusarte.com/pages/product.asp?ProductID=36

Thank Nibs for the info! I totally support your decision for not promoting the new film. Now I hope it is rated PG. That would be really nice. I cannot wait until the movie is released! I've been waiting since summer of 2008!
Thanks Gina, I went to the site and I have seen that movie on another website!
Dickens rocks!
