I wouldn't have guessed, but I looked at the illustrations when I got my copy and so I knew.

Poor Dolly! She's definitely my favorite so far, and thus I hate Hugh. Grr. And Joe is probably one of my favorite Dickensian gentlemen - he reminds me a bit of David Copperfield but not so sentimental.

I love the account of Miggs torturing Sim and then departing to "chuckle in secret".
