Armando Iannucci has obtained backing for his film The Personal History of David Copperfield from FilmNation, according to several outlets. It's also being reported that the film will offer "a 'fresh and modern' take" on the story. I'm not entirely sure what that means. It could simply mean that Iannucci is trying to give the film a different feel from past versions, but most reporters appear to think it means that the story will be updated to the present day. We'll have to wait and see!
